What is it about Bikes

Postby Gaz01 on Sun Jul 25, 2010 5:33 pm

Lads and Lasses,

Had a ride to Norwich today because I had to find the Hospital I have to go too next week.
Anyhow. On my way back as I was taking in the scenery, a thought crossed my mind.
What is it about Bikes and the Police?
Don't get me wrong, I wasn't pulled and I never saw a police patrol, but what started me thinking
about this was when two cars that passed me who were doing nigh on a ton along the Dual Carriageway.
They left me eating there dust-so to speak-as though I was stationary and I was doing 75 to 80.
We hear a lot of people-car drivers- moaning about Motorcyclists and then they go off on one thinking
the Law of speeding does not apply to them.
In my opinion Motorcyclists are the least dangerous users of the road simply because we have to have a higher degree of Concentration.
It just galls me that the everyday Biker is considered to be more of a hazard than Joe Bloggs in his tin can.

Too true, I think we're an easy target because we stand out on the road. Also some of us do have a habit of drawing attention to ourselves (guilty as charged!).

You're right we are easy targets and it doesn't help when we stick small plates on and loud exhausts as that does draw in attention. Also the fact of filtering and being able to carry out faster overtakes...

However i would say that most cops don't know the first thing about bikers and the laws. 'Most' will pull over a car rather than a bike due to it being easier to go over. Esp boy racers in their cars as there are soooo many potential offences just sitting there.
