MOT Recomendation

Postby Rachyrod on Fri Jan 13, 2012 9:58 pm

Hi Guys and Girls,

Just thought I would share the good noews that my bike sailed through its MOT today :D even after I put a stupenusly LOUD can on in the summer along with a small plate and inicators. OK so I put the baffles in the exhaust just to be on the safe side but knew it would still be too loud  Anyways if you do have a 'nervous' MOT (not mechanically 'nervous' you understand, you need to fix that lol) Just let me know and I will tell you where I took my bike today, dont worry it is local :D

Is it stamped Race Use only though?
The akro on my R1 is stamped Race Use Only, and even though its quiet, it will still fail.

Easy answer to your stamped issue is to put a sticker over the markings. The MOT station can not remove the sticker so then its down to the tester. If its not 'too' loud then it will pass.

I think thats an urban myth. I asked the MOT tester if i could do that, and he said he would have to fail it as he knows what it is covering

Hi steve my exhaust has not for road use stamped on it, i just stuck a piece of silver speed tape over it and it sailed through! The MOT station seemed to be more fussed about the size of the number plate.
