DW its all under control.

We get about 15-20 sign up a day, but most get caught out and don't actually show up on the members list. However some still get through.
I just delete them but not had the time the last couple of days. Will do it at some point in the next couple of days.

Right... this is bad.

I have a loads of exeriene with PHPBB. I don know that this sort of thing is common. What you have to watch out for is advertisement bombs. What usually happens is the names join in numbers over time... getting themselves up to about 50 or so... and then all at once they bomb your forum with advertisement posts non-stop. Filling up every available post that you can reply to. It's been the death of a few PHPBB sites because the owners don't have the time to sort them out... so had to revamp their whole board.

My warning to you. Be careful. If there is one thing that PHPBB is vulnerable to... it's advertising bots.

:D

It happened to a forun I used to go on, in the end the owner got fed up of trying to keep them out and ended up shutting the whole forum down! :'(

Don't worry this forum won't be shut down.

I agree with the previous 2 posts, but as much as I'd like to post several thumbs up and smiley faces, it'd take quite some time to do so using my BlackBerry!
